Ben Affleck Replaces Matt Damon In Netflix Thriller ‘Animals’ With Gillian Anderson

Ben Affleck’s crime thriller Animals is back on track with Affleck taking on both directing and starring roles, alongside Gillian Anderson. Originally set to star Matt Damon, the project faced setbacks due to script issues before finally being revived. The story revolves around a mayoral candidate and his wife as they navigate a perilous situation involving their kidnapped son amid political and personal threats, with a scheduled shoot in Los Angeles starting in April. Oscar-winning screenwriter Billy Ray (Captain Phillips, The Hunger Games) will write the screenplay. Though Damon will no longer appear in the film, he will remain onboard as a producer. (Variety)
