Chris Donovan—once known to rock radio listeners as “CISCO”—is now the powerhouse PM drive voice on the all-new KATY-FM, bringing energy, experience, and authenticity to afternoons every weekday.
Born in Arizona and raised across multiple West Coast states, Chris was surrounded early by diverse music, culture, and personalities that would later shape his on-air style. In his mid-twenties, he made the decision to pursue a career in entertainment, relocating to California in 2001 with nothing but determination, curiosity, and a voice people kept telling him belonged on the radio.
After cutting his teeth working venue gigs and behind-the-scenes production roles, Chris committed fully to broadcasting. He attended the Academy of Radio & TV Broadcasting, taught himself audio production using early tools like Cool Edit and Fruity Loops, and immersed himself in the craft. Two decades later, the passion remains the same—only the technology has improved.
Throughout his career, Chris has worn many hats across radio, podcasting, and production. He has built professional studios for GSN, helped launch and produce a podcast for Jim Harbaugh, and traveled nationwide recording content with talent spanning sports, entertainment, and pop culture. Along the way, he’s worked with well-known names including Shaquille O’Neal, Jerry Springer, and many others—earning a reputation as someone who can connect with talent at every level.
At his core, Chris is a self-described radio nerd and podcast junkie, driven by storytelling, connection, and the power of live audio. Off the air, he’s a proud father to Juleen, Aiden, and Cassandra, a devoted husband to Evelyn, and—by most accounts—an all-around good guy who never forgot why he fell in love with radio in the first place.
